Allen Sparkman graduated with honors from Princeton
University and received his law degree with high honors
from the University of Texas. He has practiced law for
over thirty years in the areas of estate, tax, business,
insurance, asset protection, and philanthropic planning
matters for individuals, farmers, ranchers, businesses,
and nonprofit organizations throughout Colorado and
in several other states and foreign countries.
Allen speaks regularly on entity selection, estate
planning, asset protection, and philanthropic planning
topics at accredited continuing legal education seminars.
He is the author of numerous articles, including "Asset

Allen is a member of the American, Colorado, and Boulder
Bar Associations, the Boulder County Estate Planning
Council, and the National Association of Philanthropic
Planners. Allen was President of the Rocky Mountain
Estate Planning Council 2002-2003. Allen is Vice Chair
of the Agricultural and Rural Law Section of the Colorado
Bar Association and Secretary of the Business Law Section
of the Colorado Bar Association. He is an active member
of the Colorado Secretary of State's Advisory Committee
for Business and Commercial Laws and the Legislative
Drafting Committee of the Business Law Section of the
Colorado Bar Association. Allen is the Colorado reporter
for STATE LIMITED PARTNERSHIP LAWS and STATE LIMITED
LIABILITY COMPANY LAWS, published by Aspen Law &
Business.
Allen is a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation. He
is a volunteer attorney for Colorado Lawyers' for the
Arts and serves on the legal committee of the Community
Foundation Serving Boulder County. Allen has served
as a board member of several charitable organizations
and currently is a board member of the Boulder-Dushanbe
Sister Cities organization. He enjoys writing, photography,
and hiking.
